Türkiye's Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader, a close ally of Türkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), Devlet Bahceli, has issued a strong condemnation of Israel, calling it “the enemy of humanity and of the hopes for peace,” while warning that continued violence in Gaza could legitimize military responses.
Speaking on the recent breakdown of cease-fire negotiations in Cairo, Bahceli said Israel's ongoing attacks and civilian losses had crossed all moral and legal boundaries.
"If Israel cannot be stopped at the table, then doing so on the field, with force, may emerge as a historic turning point," he declared.
Bahceli added that diplomatic mechanisms had failed to stop the bloodshed: “If Israel cannot be stopped at the table, then doing so on the field, with force, may emerge as a historic turning point,” he said.
The MHP leader has repeatedly criticized Israel’s operations in Gaza. In earlier remarks, Bahceli accused Israel of endangering regional peace and called for Türkiye’s national unity in the face of what he described as Israel’s aggressive policies.
He has also urged international institutions to act decisively to protect Palestinian civilians.
Bahceli called for lawmakers from the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission to visit Imrali to hold face-to-face meetings with the PKK terrorist group ringleader, Abdullah Ocalan.
"My expectation is this: the founding leadership of the PKK should make a direct call to SDF/YPG with the same nature and content, requesting compliance with the March 10 agreement signed with the Damascus administration," Bahceli said.
"If necessary, a group of lawmakers serving on the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission should go to Imrali and hold face-to-face meetings, messages should be received firsthand and shared with the public. The statement that binds us is the Feb. 27 Imrali statement," he noted.
Bahceli emphasized the importance of disarmament for political participation.
"Anyone who has not engaged in armed action should come and embrace their family. If there are weapons, there is no politics," the MHP leader said, concluding with, "If there is to be politics, all weapons must be burned."
