Aselsan has developed a new-generation mobile communication system designed to maintain secure and uninterrupted communication during disasters and emergency scenarios, including major earthquakes, even if existing infrastructure fails.
Developed by Aselsan, the Cryptographic Law Enforcement Radio and Communication System (KETUM) provides fast, continuous and secure communication for law enforcement units during all field operations.
The system serves as a modern communication backbone while also integrating existing analog radios, making institutional networks more resilient and comprehensive.
A critical component of KETUM is its mobile communication vehicle, which is specifically designed to be deployed during disasters and emergencies.
The vehicle can connect via satellite to POLNET and encrypted national DMR systems, allowing communication to continue independently if conventional networks become unusable.
The mobile unit is capable of operating in coordination with communication networks in different provinces, enabling wide-area radio communication and data transmission.
Thanks to onboard analog and encrypted digital repeaters, it can establish uninterrupted radio coverage across a range of approximately 15 to 30 kilometers.
The system brings together multiple functions on one platform, including satellite phone connectivity, data transmission via mobile phone lines, remote management of radio devices and real-time location tracking.
Extendable antenna towers increase the coverage area, while the vehicle’s onboard generator enables long-duration, uninterrupted missions.
In the event of a major earthquake or other critical disaster, the mobile communication vehicle can continue operating as a fully independent communication system, even if all existing infrastructure is disabled.
With its high integration capacity and domestic production, KETUM aims to provide law enforcement agencies with a secure, sustainable and effective communication infrastructure tailored to operational and emergency needs.
