Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) CEO Mehmet Demiroglu shared the delivery schedules for Türkiye's indigenously run Anka-3 and Hurkus-2 projects during the Teknofest event in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Demiroglu provided insights into the ongoing tests and the expected delivery timelines for both projects.

Anka-3 testing to be completed by year-end

Speaking during an interview with the Turkish media outlet, SavunmaSanayiST, Demiroglu announced that the testing process for the Anka-3 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is progressing well.

"We are currently conducting tests on two prototypes of the Anka-3. Our testing phase is expected to be completed by the end of this year," said Demiroglu.

"We are also starting preparations for the delivery of these aircraft to the Turkish Air Force or any other interested forces next year. We anticipate delivering the first units in 2026. The tests are going smoothly, with both internal and external integration tests, as well as flight envelope expansion tests, being successfully conducted," he added.

Hurkus-2 target: 10 deliveries by end of 2025

Regarding the Hurkus-2, a military trainer aircraft, Demiroglu set an ambitious goal for the project. "Our current target is to deliver 10 Hurkus-2 aircraft by the end of 2025. Qualification tests are still ongoing, followed by mission tests," he explained.

"Our plans are well-prepared, and we are successfully working alongside the Turkish Air Force. We hope to complete these deliveries by the end of this year," he added.

Internal deliveries boosting export potential

TAI CEO Demiroglu also highlighted the positive impact of domestic deliveries on export opportunities. "The Turkish Armed Forces are a challenging customer, but they serve as a significant marketing tool for us. The first question that potential customers ask is whether the platform has been integrated into our inventory," Demiroglu remarked.

"Once we respond affirmatively, the export potential grows exponentially. We have seen this with Hurkus, where we immediately began discussions with countries such as Azerbaijan, Egypt, and others," he added.

He further emphasized that domestic projects, such as Hurjet and Gokbey, along with Anka and Aksungur, are driving significant export discussions. "The platforms we prioritize domestically are also our leading products in terms of export potential," Demiroglu added, expressing optimism for future projects like KAAN.
