Firefighters are responding from the air and the ground to a fire that broke out in a rural area of Canakkale, northwestern Türkiye, where flames have spread under the effect of wind.
The fire started for an undetermined reason in an area around Kizilkecili village, near the central district of Canakkale.

According to initial reports, the fire affected agricultural land in Kizilkecili and also moved through a forested area between Musakoy and Kizilkecili villages.
The flames grew wider as wind pushed the fire across the area, prompting emergency teams to move in quickly.
Following the alert, teams from the Canakkale Regional Directorate of Forestry were sent to the area. Crews are working both from the air and on the ground to put out the fire.
Efforts to bring the blaze under control are continuing, while the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
