Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan conducted separate meetings with his counterparts from Morocco and the Netherlands during diplomatic activities in New York, according to announcements from Turkiye's Foreign Ministry.
Fidan met with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel while attending events surrounding the United Nations General Assembly, the ministry said in social media posts.
The meetings occurred as Türkiye maintained an active diplomatic presence during the 80th UN General Assembly, with several deputy foreign ministers also participating in various multilateral engagements throughout the week.
Deputy Foreign Ministers Nuh Yilmaz, Ayse Berris Ekinci, and Zeki Levent Gumrukcu attended multiple meetings and conferences as part of Türkiye's delegation to the annual gathering of world leaders.
Ekinci participated in the inaugural meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Afghanistan Contact Group, where she emphasized strengthening coordination for engagement with Afghanistan within the OIC framework. She also held bilateral discussions with Frederic Mondoloni, Political Affairs and Security Director General at France's Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, at the Turkish House to address bilateral relations and regional developments.
At the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia informal ministerial meeting, Ekinci highlighted Türkiye's founding membership in CICA and the organization's confidence-building role in Asia, while emphasizing Türkiye's long-term commitment to the region under its Asia Anew Initiative.
Deputy Minister Yilmaz attended the Hague Group ministerial meeting on Palestine, where he delivered remarks characterizing the situation in Gaza as representing not only a humanitarian tragedy but also "the moral collapse of the international order." Yilmaz called for an end to what he described as Israel's aggression in Palestine, genocidal actions, and regional expansionism.
Deputy Minister Gumrukcu held talks with Christian Turner, Political Director at the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, at the Turkish House, focusing on bilateral relations and regional issues.
