Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will visit Iran on Nov. 30, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced.
Fidan is scheduled to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi and other senior Iranian officials during his visit.
According to the ministry, Fidan will discuss ways to improve the institutional structure of bilateral ties under the High-Level Cooperation Council (HLCC), established in 2014, more functional.
He will also review preparations for the ninth HLCC meeting to be held under the leadership of the presidents of Türkiye and Iran.
During the talks, Fidan is expected to emphasize the importance of strengthening cooperation on security and counterterrorism.
Discussions will also address transportation and connectivity issues, efforts to accelerate the construction and infrastructure of border trade centers, and the need to increase joint efforts to reach the bilateral trade target of $30 billion.
The ministry said Fidan will highlight the importance of sustained dialogue between Türkiye and Iran to support regional security and stability.
He will express Türkiye’s support for the swift achievement of a peaceful solution regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
Fidan will also underline that Israel’s actions hinder regional stability and bring attention to the significance of Syria’s stability for the security of the wider region.
Fidan is scheduled to consult on the latest U.N. Security Council decision on Gaza, the maintenance of the current cease-fire, and the reconstruction of Gaza.
He will also reiterate that ending the Russia–Ukraine war through negotiations and diplomacy is essential, note the need to sustain efforts to preserve peace and stability in the South Caucasus, and exchange views on easing recent tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan last visited Iran on July 19, 2022.
Iranian Foreign Minister Arakchi most recently visited Türkiye on June 21, 2025, during the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.
The eighth HLCC meeting at the presidential level was held in Ankara on Jan. 24, 2024.
As of October 2025, Türkiye’s total foreign trade volume with Iran stood at approximately $6.5 billion.
