Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is set to pay an official visit to Türkiye next Wednesday for the sixth meeting of the Türkiye–Greece High-Level Cooperation Council, Türkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran said Thursday.
Mitsotakis will travel to Ankara at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Duran said in a statement shared on his social media account.
“At the Council Meeting to be held in Ankara under the chairmanship of our President and the Greek Prime Minister, with the participation of the relevant ministers, Türkiye–Greece relations will be reviewed in all their dimensions, and opportunities to advance cooperation between the two neighboring countries will be discussed,” Duran said.
He said the talks are expected to include an exchange of views on bilateral relations, as well as regional and global developments.
“During the meetings, views are expected to be exchanged on regional and global developments, as well as on bilateral relations.
Within the framework of the visit, the signing of various texts aimed at strengthening bilateral relations is also on the agenda,” Duran added.
The council meeting will be co-chaired by Erdogan and Mitsotakis, with relevant Cabinet ministers from both countries also attending, Duran said.
The meeting is expected to provide a comprehensive review of ties between Türkiye and Greece and to explore ways to further enhance cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
The signing of various agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations is also expected during the visit, according to the statement.
