Istanbul’s nine-month crime report for 2025 has been released, presenting detailed figures on the distribution of recorded incidents across the city’s districts.
The data shows notable variations between highly populated residential areas and smaller districts, with absolute case numbers differing significantly from one part of the city to another.
According to the official figures, Esenyurt reported the highest total with 12,566 cases, making it the district with the largest number of recorded incidents. Following Esenyurt, Pendik registered 8,005 cases, while Gaziosmanpasa reached 7,926, Kadikoy 6,422, and Arnavutkoy 6,002. These five districts accounted for the largest case volumes across Istanbul.
The next group of districts also recorded high totals. Kucukcekmece reported 5,305 incidents, Sultangazi 5,065, Avcilar 4,838, Beylikduzu 4,574, and Kartal 4,533. Additional large residential areas included Bahcelievler with 4,369 cases, Beyoglu with 4,289, Esenler with 4,136, and Atasehir with 4,126.
In the mid-range, Sisli recorded 4,017 incidents, Bagcilar 3,874, Umraniye 3,760, Buyukcekmece 3,174, and Zeytinburnu 3,075. These totals placed them below the highest group but still significantly above the lowest categories.
At the lower end of the list, Eyupsultan registered 2,581 cases, Besiktas 2,273, Tuzla 2,241, Silivri 2,155, and Maltepe 2,041. The districts with the lowest numbers overall were Bayrampasa with 1,994 incidents, Gungoren with 1,970, Bakirkoy with 1,930, Sancaktepe with 1,905, Kagithane with 1,867, and Fatih with 1,849.

When combined with these figures, the totals illustrate the concentration of reported incidents in Istanbul’s most heavily populated districts. Esenyurt, which is the largest district by population, also leads by a wide margin in total incidents, while smaller districts such as Fatih and Kagithane remain at the lowest end in absolute terms.
