Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) has announced its members for the upcoming National Unity and Solidarity Commission, formed under the "Terror-Free Türkiye" initiative.
Meanwhile, MHP leader Devlet Bahceli criticized the PKK/YPG-linked terrorist group SDF for what he called a deliberate delay in implementing the March 10 agreement with the Syrian government.
Bahceli said the so-called SDF, a structure with operational and ideological ties to the PKK and YPG terrorist organizations, has failed to fulfill its commitments to disarmament and reintegration, despite international mediation efforts.
"The attempt to sabotage this historic opportunity is a disgrace. The call made from Imrali is valid and binding for all branches of this terrorist network," Bahceli said in a written statement, referring to the imprisoned founder-ringleader of the PKK terrorist organization.
Bahceli referred to the "Peace and Democratic Society Call" issued on February 27 from Imrali Island prison, emphasizing that it must be implemented without exception by the PKK/YPG-linked terrorist group SDF.
“Nobody should entertain the illusion of reversing the process. Türkiye’s unity, peace, and future are non-negotiable,” he said.
MHP has nominated four deputies to join the 51-member National Unity and Solidarity Commission, tasked with overseeing the legal and structural transition in the post-terrorism period:
The commission aims to ensure a comprehensive and irreversible shift away from terrorism, focusing on justice, social cohesion, and national reconciliation.
Bahceli criticized the Republican People's Party (CHP) for what he described as conditional participation and foot-dragging regarding the commission, accusing it of being uncomfortable with a Türkiye free of terrorism.
“Their resistance stems from a fear of losing their old schemes. They worry about what comes after the terrorist threat is gone,” he claimed.
Bahceli reiterated concerns that the PKK/YPG-linked terrorist group SDF continues its activities in Syria in violation of the March 10 agreement brokered in Paris. He accused the group of undermining both the Syrian government's sovereignty and Türkiye's national security.
He also urged the United States to abandon its contradictory policy of “running with the hare and hunting with the hounds” by continuing its covert support for the group, while publicly advocating regional stability.
Turning to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Bahceli described Israel as a terror state responsible for systematic war crimes, including the blockade of food and water to civilians.
"Netanyahu will be remembered as a genocidal war criminal. The international community must isolate this rogue regime," he stated, calling France’s recognition of Palestine “a courageous and honorable step.”
