Poland's Deputy Defense Minister Pawel Bejda met with Turkish Ambassador Rauf Alp Denktash on Wednesday to discuss bilateral defense industry cooperation, including Turkish support for ammunition production technologies.
According to a statement from Poland's Foreign Ministry, the talks focused on the current state of bilateral defense-industrial cooperation, including support from Türkiye in acquiring modern technologies for producing 120mm and 155mm caliber ammunition for Polish industry.
The meeting also addressed matters concerning the functioning of the Polish Military Contingent carrying out tasks to strengthen Türkiye within the framework of NATO operations covering the Mediterranean and Black Sea areas.
The ministry statement said Türkiye places great hope in strengthening mutual military-industrial cooperation, treating Poland "as a historically credible partner."
"At the same time, bilateral cooperation with Poland is perceived as an opportunity to strengthen itself in the European market, including within the framework of joint business ventures," the statement added.
