President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will travel to Budapest, Hungary, on May 21 to participate in the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), according to a statement from Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun.
The Budapest Summit, organized around the theme "Meeting Point of East and West," will review ongoing efforts to strengthen the institutional structure of the Organization of Turkic States, Altun announced via his social media account.
"The summit is expected to adopt various documents and decisions, including the Budapest Declaration," Altun stated.
President Erdogan is also scheduled to participate in the OTS Heads of State Council Meeting on the sidelines of the summit.
The Turkish leader plans to hold bilateral talks with participating heads of state and government, according to Altun's statement.
The Organization of Turkic States serves as a platform for enhancing cooperation among Turkic-speaking nations and has been expanding its institutional capacity and scope in recent years.
The Budapest meeting follows previous high-level gatherings, including formal summits that have emphasized strengthening solidarity and cooperation among member states.
Hungary, which hosts the summit, holds observer status in the organization, highlighting the growing bridges between Turkic states and European partners.
