President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Azerbaijan's Khankendi city Friday to participate in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
The summit will be held under the theme "New Economic Cooperation Organization Vision for a Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Future," according to Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun.
Altun announced the visit through his social media account, stating that discussions will focus on climate change, trade, transportation networks, and organizational reforms to enhance cooperation among member countries.
President Erdogan will address the summit session and conduct meetings with other leaders attending the event, Altun confirmed.
The summit will bring together heads of state and government from member countries, along with observers, including the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and representatives from international organizations.
Climate change adaptation and sustainable development strategies will be central themes of the summit discussions as member countries will exchange ideas on building climate-resilient economies and implementing sustainable development practices across the region.
The Republic of Azerbaijan will host the 17th ECO Summit on July 3–4, 2025, in Khankendi.
The summit will convene ECO heads of states and government, ministers, ECO observers, special guests from non-ECO countries and heads of international organizations to achieve development and prosperity through fragile economic integration.
The summit will feature a dynamic and inclusive ECO week, held on July 1–4, across multiple cities in Azerbaijan.
The ECO week will include a series of thematic forums aimed at advancing youth engagement, gender inclusion and economic connectivity within the region.
