Sudan has evacuated its citizens and their families from Iran to Türkiye due to ongoing Israeli attacks on Iran, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry announced.

The evacuation was carried out in coordination between Sudan's embassies in Tehran and Ankara, along with the consulate general in Istanbul, according to the ministry statement.

Safety measures prioritized during evacuation

The Foreign Ministry said all necessary measures were taken to ensure the safety and meet the needs of citizens throughout the evacuation process.

The ministry described the evacuation as successfully completed under a plan prepared by the Foreign Ministry, though it did not disclose the number of people evacuated.

The move comes as tensions escalate in the region following Israeli military operations targeting Iran. Sudan's decision to relocate its nationals reflects growing concerns about civilian safety amid the continuing strikes.

Türkiye serves as regional evacuation hub

Türkiye has frequently served as a transit point for evacuations from conflict zones in the Middle East, given its strategic location and diplomatic relationships across the region.

The evacuation represents another instance of countries moving to protect their citizens as regional tensions intensify between Israel and Iran.
