The Turkish Stars Aerobatic Team claimed the "Best Show Flight" award at NATO Days in the Czech Republic, marking a significant achievement for Türkiye's air force demonstration squadron at what organizers call Europe's largest security exhibition.

The Turkish Air Force team announced the victory on social media platform X on Sunday, expressing pride in bringing the prestigious award back to Türkiye.

"We will continue to fly our crescent-and-star flag with pride around the world," the team stated in their post.

The NATO Days event in Ostrava, combined with Czech Air Force Days, draws aviation enthusiasts and military personnel from across the continent. The annual gathering showcases military aircraft, equipment demonstrations and aerobatic performances from NATO member nations and partners.

Competition featured multiple international aerobatic teams

The Turkish Stars, known for their precision flying and complex formation maneuvers, competed against aerobatic teams from multiple countries for the recognition. The team flies domestically-produced aircraft and has represented Türkiye at air shows worldwide for decades.

The award comes as Türkiye continues participating in NATO activities despite occasional diplomatic tensions within the alliance. Türkiye remains a key NATO member, contributing to various alliance missions while maintaining its own strategic interests in the region.

The victory comes as military aviation displays gain renewed attention across Europe, with air shows serving as both public entertainment and demonstrations of allied military capabilities.
