Nurol Makina, which serves Indonesian police with its YORUK 4x4 Light Armored Vehicle also known as NMS 4x4, aims to strengthen its presence in the country by meeting demands from the army side.
Turkish defense industry's armored land vehicle manufacturer Nurol Makina displayed the YORUK (NMS) 4x4 light armored vehicle exported to Indonesia at the Indo Defence Expo & Forum 2025 fair held in Indonesia.
Nurol Makina Business Development Director Mehmet Corbacioglu told an AA correspondent that they participated in the fair for the third time.
Corbacioglu said they completed deliveries last year following the contract signed with BRIMOB, Indonesia's elite special operations and tactical unit of the police, and displayed the vehicle used by BRIMOB at the fair.
"Apart from BRIMOB, there are also demands for our vehicle from the army side. We held these discussions and will continue to follow up after the fair. After Malaysia, our Indonesia contract was signed. Nurol Makina's presence in the region is increasing day by day," Corbacioglu said.
Nurol Makina is operating with approximately 80 vehicles in Indonesia in line with the signed contract.
The company aims to expand its operations by meeting potential army requirements in addition to its current police contracts.
The NMS 4x4, designed for use by security forces and military units, promises users the highest level mobility and protection performance in the light armored vehicle class.
The vehicle provides high-level ballistic and mine/improvised explosive device protection that can be modified according to user requirements.
Thanks to its modular design, the NMS 4x4 can assume roles such as combat, personnel carrier, air defense and reconnaissance vehicle in high-intensity conflict environments.
The vehicle can carry heavy loads at a maximum cruising speed of 140 kilometers per hour and can be equipped with weapon systems such as 7.62 and 12.7 millimeter machine guns, 40 millimeter grenade launchers, air and anti-tank systems.
The NMS 4x4, weighing 8 tons with high payload capacity, can transport up to 11 personnel.
First displayed in 2017, the NMS 4x4 attracted the attention of many countries while still in the design phase and quickly achieved export success.
The vehicle's modular capabilities allow it to adapt to various operational requirements, making it attractive to international customers seeking versatile armored solutions.
Corbacioglu emphasized that following contracts with Malaysia and Indonesia, Nurol Makina's presence in Southeast Asia continues to expand, with ongoing negotiations for additional military contracts in Indonesia.
