Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Tufan Erhurman will pay his first official visit abroad to Türkiye on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025.
According to a statement from Türkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, the visit will take place upon an invitation from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In a written announcement, Duran said the meeting in Ankara would cover recent developments regarding the Cyprus issue as well as a comprehensive review of bilateral relations between Türkiye and the TRNC.
Duran noted that the talks will include a discussion of "current developments on the Cyprus question," a longstanding dispute between Turkish and Greek Cypriots over the divided island, which has remained unresolved since 1974.
The meeting is expected to serve as a platform for evaluating Türkiye-TRNC cooperation in political, economic and security fields.
Erhurman, leader of the center-left Republican Turkish Party (CTP), won the October 2025 presidential election with 62.76% of the vote, defeating independent candidate and incumbent President Ersin Tatar, who received 35.81%.
His upcoming visit to Ankara will mark his first official engagement outside the island since assuming office.
