Turkish Defense Minister Guler, top military brass visit Iran border amid regional tensions

National Defense Minister Yasar Guler and the Turkish Armed Forces Command traveled to Van to conduct inspections and reviews of military units on the Iranian border.

According to information obtained by correspondents, Minister Guler will conduct inspections and reviews at military units on the Iranian border.

Phone call with Russian Defense Minister

Additionally, National Defense Minister Guler on June 17 held a phone conversation with Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov.

According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, Guler and Belousov exchanged views on bilateral and regional defense and security issues, particularly the conflicts between Iran and Israel, during their phone conversation.

Israel-Iran conflict enters sixth day

Mutual attacks continue between Iran and Israel. The conflicts have entered their sixth day. Iran launched an attack on Israel's capital, Tel Aviv, during the night hours.

Iranian Red Crescent President Mujtaba Khalidi stated that Israel attacked 21 provinces, and approximately 1,000 people were temporarily accommodated in shelter centers.

Israel conducted large-scale attacks on June 13 targeting nuclear facilities in various Iranian cities, primarily including the army's top command level.

Iran's chief of general staff, Revolutionary Guards general commander, and some senior commanders, along with nine nuclear scientists, were killed in the attacks, while total civilian casualties were announced as 224.

In Iran's army's retaliation against Israel with ballistic missiles, 24 people were killed and more than 500 were injured.

Many countries, led by Türkiye, condemned Israel.
