Turkish police prevented seven terror attacks and arrested 2,063 suspects in counterterrorism operations during the first 11 months of 2025, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced Wednesday at the Provincial Police Chiefs Annual Evaluation Meeting.

"In operations against terrorist organizations in police jurisdictions alone in the first 11 months of 2025, 2,063 people were arrested and seven terror attacks were prevented," Yerlikaya said at the Directorate General of Security's Sehit Demet Sezen Conference Hall.

"The fight against terrorism is not just a security issue; it is also a matter of the future and survival. A 'Terrorism-Free Türkiye' is the guarantee of the right to life, peace and security," Yerlikaya added.

273 organized crime gangs dismantled

Yerlikaya said police dismantled 273 organized crime gangs in the first 11 months of the year—153 by Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime units, 54 by Narcotics units, and 66 by Cyber units.

"As a result of these operations, 4,267 people were arrested. We seized assets worth approximately ₺129 billion ($3 billion)," Yerlikaya said.

The Interior Minister said Türkiye is implementing the "Türkiye Integrated Security Model" as its new security roadmap.

"With this model, we are bringing down the leaders and management cadres of organized crime organizations, their reorganization capacities, financial networks and assets, international connections and field dominance one by one through our operations," Yerlikaya said.

Crime rates drop, clearance rates reach 99%

Yerlikaya said 77,000 fewer crimes against persons and property occurred in police jurisdictions in the first 11 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year.

"Our clearance rate for crimes against persons increased by 1.2 points to 99%. The clearance rate for crimes against property increased by 9 points to 92% in one year," he noted.

"Some 99, 92... Hey Europe, do you have such a clearance rate? Look and see, search and see; will you be able to find it? No one should bother looking; they won't find it," Yerlikaya noted.

124,761 wanted suspects captured

Yerlikaya said police captured and delivered to justice 124,761 suspects with outstanding arrest warrants in the first 11 months—including 20,844 for drug crimes, 19,460 for theft and 2,096 for murder.

In drug operations, 35,000 people were arrested, and 30 tons of narcotics and 108 million drug pills were seized.

Motorcycle-related shootings decreased by 43% compared to the same period last year.

"We are catching those cowards who think they are hiding under their helmets one by one, and Allah willing, we will continue to catch them," Yerlikaya said.
