Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek met with President Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
President Tatar received Minister Simsek at the Presidential Complex during his official visit to the TRNC.
The meeting was also attended by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Lefkosa Ali Murat Basceri, TRNC Finance Minister Ozdemir Berova, and other officials.
In his speech, President Tatar expressed confidence that under the leadership of Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Türkiye will become stronger in the near future. He emphasized that the "Century of Türkiye" will have a significant impact on the TRNC.
Tatar acknowledged some challenges faced by the TRNC but stated that as a resilient people, they are moving toward the future with Türkiye’s support. He thanked Simsek for his visit.
Simsek highlighted Türkiye’s steadfast support for the TRNC in nearly all matters and stressed that the future of the TRNC and the Cyprus issue remain above politics in Türkiye.
Expressing his pleasure at being in the TRNC, Simsek praised the new Presidential Complex as a fitting facility for the island and extended his best wishes.
He underscored that the TRNC’s future lies in solidarity and strong unity, adding, “Together, we will build an even stronger future.”
