Türkiye appoints new ambassadors to 4 countries following presidential decree

New ambassador appointments to four countries have been made through a presidential decree signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and published in the Official Gazette.

The appointments take effect immediately following their publication in the Official Gazette.

Diplomatic reassignments include China and European nations

According to the presidential decree, the following appointments have been made:

  • Selcuk Unal, currently serving as Türkiye's Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, has been appointed as Ambassador to the People's Republic of China.
  • Gorkem Baris Tantekin, previously Ambassador to the Republic of Lithuania, has been appointed as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium.

The decree also includes appointments of senior Foreign Ministry officials to key diplomatic positions.

  • Esra Toplu, Director General of Foreign Policy Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been appointed as Ambassador to the Republic of Lithuania.
  • Fatma Ceren Yazgan, Director General of Migration Policies and Visa Operations, has been appointed as Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

All four appointments were formalized through President Erdogan's signature and published in the Official Gazette to ensure legal validity.
