Authorities apprehended 23 suspects sought by 11 countries through Interpol alerts during coordinated operations conducted across six provinces, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced Friday.

In a statement shared via social media, Yerlikaya said the arrests were the result of investigations carried out in cooperation with public prosecutors and the Turkish National Police's Intelligence, Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM), and Interpol-Europol departments. The operations targeted internationally wanted individuals in Antalya, Aydin, Istanbul, Mugla, Izmir and Bursa.

The suspects were sought by Germany, Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Iraq, Algeria, the United States, Kazakhstan, Albania, and Tajikistan. Interpol had issued 13 Red Notices, one Blue Notice, and nine diffusion messages for the individuals.

"During operations conducted in six provinces, we apprehended 23 suspects wanted by 11 countries through various Interpol notices. The suspects were wanted for serious offenses including membership in criminal organizations, premeditated murder, sexual assault, fraud, and drug trafficking," Yerlikaya said.

According to the statement, the suspects were identified and located in Türkiye following detailed investigations. They have been handed over to provincial immigration authorities, and deportation procedures have been initiated immediately.

Commending the police units involved, Yerlikaya reaffirmed Türkiye's determination to fight transnational crime: "Regardless of the type of notice, we will not allow international criminal networks, human traffickers, or drug dealers to operate and disrupt public order."
