"Cooperation between Türkiye and Iran in many areas, especially energy, serves mutual interests," Erdogan told Pezeshkian during the meeting, according to the directorate's statement.

The Turkish president specifically addressed Iran's nuclear program negotiations. "We see benefit in Iran conducting nuclear negotiations, and Türkiye will continue its support to Iran in this regard," Erdogan stated.

Several senior Turkish officials attended the meeting, including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Trade Minister Omer Bolat and Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran.

Regional conflicts and peace processes

The two leaders exchanged views on several regional crisis points, including the latest situation in Syria, Israel's attacks on Gaza and the peace process in the South Caucasus, the Communications Directorate reported.
