Türkiye on Friday strongly condemned a drone attack on a civilian ship belonging to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which was en route to Gaza with humanitarian aid.
The coalition said the ship Conscience, carrying 16 people, came under attack by unmanned aerial vehicles in international waters off Malta.
“There are allegations that the ship was targeted by Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles. All necessary efforts will be made to reveal the details of the attack as soon as possible and to bring the perpetrators to justice,” Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Oncu Keceli said in a statement on X.
Keceli confirmed that the vessel was carrying Turkish citizens and said the health of all crew and passengers is “good.”
He added that Türkiye is coordinating with Maltese authorities to ensure the safe transfer of its citizens from the vessel.
