Authorities in Türkiye shut down roughly 1,250 websites linked to an organized cyber fraud network in an operation coordinated by the National Intelligence Organization, officials said. One suspect, identified as O.S., was arrested.

The probe, launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, revealed a network exploiting personal information to defraud citizens and using automated software to post fake listings on e-commerce platforms. These listings included counterfeit receipts and invoices, designed to create trust and deceive victims. Investigators also found that IP addresses, location data, and online activity of users visiting the listings were being recorded.

The investigation involved the National Cyber Incident Response Center (USOM) and the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK). USOM provided technical support to map the network’s infrastructure, while MASAK traced the group’s illegal revenue streams and money flows.

In the coordinated operation led by the Ankara Gendarmerie Cyber Crimes Unit, hundreds of sites used in the fraud were blocked. Authorities said O.S., considered a ringleader, was taken into custody and later formally arrested by the court.
