The globally recognized hacker collective Anonymous has claimed responsibility for hacking Türkiye’s Interior Ministry, alleging they obtained and will soon release 6 gigabytes of sensitive data.

The group’s statements came in response to the recent arrest of former Istanbul mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, fueling public outrage.

However, the Disinformation Combat Center quickly refuted these claims, asserting that Türkiye’s cybersecurity units have found no evidence of any data breach or leak.

In an official announcement, the center said, "Several social media accounts have circulated allegations of a cyber attack targeting our Interior Ministry. These claims are baseless and part of a disinformation campaign."

According to the investigation by the ministry’s cybersecurity teams, there has been no unauthorized access or data leakage.

The center warned that such false information is intended to sow fear and confusion about national cybersecurity.

Authorities urge citizens to disregard these unfounded rumors and rely on official statements from government sources.

The Disinformation Combat Center emphasized the importance of verifying information and staying informed through legitimate channels.
