The Turkish Naval Forces staged a large-scale military demonstration on Aug. 21, 2026, at the Golcuk Naval Shipyard Command in Kocaeli, Türkiye, as part of the Teknofest Blue Homeland festival, an event dedicated to showcasing the country's maritime power, defense capabilities and indigenous technologies.
During the demonstration, a soldier was seen leaping from a helicopter into the sea, one of several exercises designed to highlight the operational readiness and training of Türkiye's naval and special forces units.
Turkish soldiers carried out a series of coordinated maneuvers throughout the demonstration, drawing the attention of technology and defense industry enthusiasts gathered at the shipyard.
At another point in the display, smoke and flames rose from the middle of the sea, illustrating the scale and intensity of the live demonstration staged for the audience.
Among the units taking part were Underwater Attack (SAT) and Underwater Defense (SAS) commandos of the Turkish Naval Forces, elite units trained for specialized combat and defense operations both above and below the water's surface.
The Teknofest Blue Homeland event is organized under the main leadership of the Turkish National Defense Ministry and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation, known as the T3 Foundation.
The festival brings together a wide range of participants, including engineers, students and members of the defense industry, all centered around a shared focus on maritime technology and innovation.
Visitors to the event have the opportunity to observe live demonstrations, exhibitions and technological displays related to Türkiye's growing defense and shipbuilding industries.
The Teknofest Blue Homeland festival will remain open to visitors through Aug. 23, continuing to offer a closer look at the country's maritime capabilities over the course of the event.
