In a major cross-border law enforcement operation, Turkish authorities have secured the extradition of 60 fugitive criminals back to Türkiye.
The operation, carried out through close international coordination, targeted suspects hiding across 12 countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, and Georgia.
Out of the 60 returned fugitives, 16 were sought globally under Interpol Red Notices while the remaining 44 were wanted on national arrest warrants.
The joint effort was coordinated by the Interior Ministry alongside the General Directorate of Security, Interpol, Europol, and the Ministry of Justice, with specialized Turkish police units, including counterterrorism, narcotics, organized crime, intelligence, and cybercrime, also taking part.
According to official updates, Georgia accounted for the vast majority of returned fugitives, with 43 individuals extradited. Security forces brought back two high-profile fugitives from Germany and two from the U.K.
The remaining suspects were extradited from Greece, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Armenia, Switzerland, Romania and Russia.
The extradited individuals face severe charges under Turkish law, including premeditated murder, terrorism, international drug trafficking, qualified child sexual abuse, human trafficking, armed robbery, extortion, and cyber fraud.
Turkish law enforcement authorities emphasized that international borders will not serve as safe havens for fugitives trying to evade justice.
All 60 suspects have been handed over to judicial authorities to face trial.
