Türkiye’s defense and aerospace industry achieved $6.7 billion in exports during the first 10 months of 2025, marking a 31% year-on-year increase, according to Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) head Haluk Gorgun.
In a statement posted on social media, Gorgun said the sector recorded $708 million in exports in October alone, excluding service exports. “With this increase, the share of our defense and aerospace sector in Türkiye’s overall exports has risen to 3.5%,” he said.
Gorgun added that the continued growth reflects the results of Türkiye’s expanding defense cooperation across the globe. “This sustained success in exports is the fruit of the defense industry cooperation activities we have been conducting worldwide. We continue these efforts with the same determination,” he said, extending thanks to all industry stakeholders.
The industry’s export performance has been driven by a growing demand for Turkish-made drones, armored vehicles, naval platforms, and electronic warfare systems, which have gained traction in regions including the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.
Türkiye exported a record $5.5 billion worth of defense and aerospace products in 2024, with the sector aiming to exceed $8 billion by the end of 2025, according to official data.
Earlier in 2025, Türkiye’s defense and aviation exports reached $3.6 billion in the first six months, a 25% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Exports for June 2025 alone totaled $623 million, up 10.4% year-on-year, contributing to the positive trend in the sector.
Over the previous 12 months, total defense exports had climbed to $7.45 billion, a 23.1% increase, reflecting the expansion of high-tech production and growing international cooperation.
Gorgun highlighted that Türkiye’s defense industry had strengthened its global presence through collaborations, while reshaping its ecosystem from large-scale companies to SMEs in the triangle of sustainable export, global competition, and domestic production.
