Türkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Deputy Chairman and Spokesman Omer Celik strongly condemned Israel's attack on Iran, calling it an "unlawful attack" with no legitimacy or justification.
"We condemn this unlawful attack in the strongest terms. The Israeli attack can have no legitimacy or justification. This is barbaric aggression," Celik said in a social media post.
Celik stated that Israel has added another to its "savage and barbaric attacks that set the entire region on fire."
The ruling Justice and Development Party's (AK Party) spokesman emphasized that the world should pay attention to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's warnings about the consequences of the Netanyahu government's actions by stating: "The entire world must pay attention to our President's warnings about the consequences of the Netanyahu government's genocidal actions."
Celik criticized the timing of Israel's military action, which occurred while negotiations between the United States and Iran were ongoing.
"Israel's attack while negotiations between the US and Iran are ongoing has once again demonstrated that Israel is hostile to all diplomatic efforts," he said.
The spokesman suggested Israel launched the new attack to divert attention from international pressure regarding its activities in Gaza by stating: "As international pressure has increased against Israel's genocidal activities in Gaza, Israel has once again launched a new offensive to divert attention from its genocidal actions."
Celik warned that Israeli aggression poses a threat to the entire world and called for an international response.
"Israeli aggression is a threat to the entire world. The entire world must take common concrete measures against it," he stated.
The condemnation from Türkiye's ruling party comes as regional tensions escalate following Israel's "Operation Rising Lion" against Iran's nuclear facilities. Iranian state media reported that Israeli strikes killed top military officials, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Gen. Hossein Salami and armed forces chief Mohammad Bagheri.
The strikes also reportedly killed Gen. Gholam-Ali Rashid and two nuclear scientists, Mohammad Tehranchi and Fereydoon Abbasi. Iranian state television reported at least 50 people wounded, including 35 women and children, were transferred to Chamran Hospital in Tehran.
