Türkiye’s state broadcaster, the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), has launched a new digital platform called TRT Hebrew as part of its global media expansion strategy. The service aims to reach Hebrew-speaking audiences in Israel and the Jewish diaspora.
The new platform will provide news, analysis and cultural content focusing on Türkiye’s foreign policy, regional developments, cultural diplomacy and global issues. It will operate under the TRT Global umbrella, joining the broadcaster’s portfolio of multilingual services.
Observers note that one of the platform’s main functions will be to communicate Türkiye’s stance on the war in Gaza, including allegations of genocide and atrocities, directly to Israeli society and Hebrew-speaking communities worldwide.
TRT Hebrew reflects its vision to be not only a broadcaster for Türkiye but also a voice to the world. The network currently produces content in more than 30 languages, including English, Arabic, French, German, Russian, Persian, Chinese, Spanish, Urdu, Kurdish and now Hebrew.
Through this multilingual approach, TRT aims to convey Türkiye’s perspective directly to international audiences across diverse regions.
TRT Hebrew is a significant step in Türkiye’s media diplomacy, allowing the country to communicate directly with Israeli society and Jewish communities worldwide.
The initiative is also part of TRT’s wider digital transformation. The broadcaster has been investing in online platforms such as tabii, which produces digital content in Turkish, English, Arabic, Urdu and Spanish, while television channels like TRT World continue to target global audiences.
