Türkiye summoned Ukraine’s ambassador to Ankara to the Foreign Ministry after a Turkish-operated ship was struck in the Black Sea and another vessel sent to tow it was also targeted, Turkish diplomatic sources said.
Ukraine’s Ambassador to Ankara Nariman Dzhelialov was summoned after the Turkish-operated vessel Lider Bordo Mavi was struck off Tuapse on Aug. 26.
The move came after the Lider Kocatepe, which was sent to tow the vessel, was also targeted on Aug. 27.
During the meeting, Türkiye conveyed its reaction to the attacks and warned that ensuring the safety of life, property, navigation and the environment in the Black Sea was essential, the sources said.
