Nine journalists were killed in Israel’s airstrikes on Iran earlier this month, Iranian state television reported Thursday.
According to the broadcast, the journalists died during a series of Israeli attacks that began on June 13 and continued in the following days. Among the victims was Fereshteh Bagheri, the daughter of Iran’s Chief of General Staff, Major General Mohammad Bagheri.
The deceased journalists were identified as:
Azimi and Rajappour were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) on June 16, the report said.
There has been no comment from Israeli officials regarding the claims. Israel rarely acknowledges or details such operations.
Iranian officials have condemned the attacks, calling them violations of international law and media protections.
