Azerbaijani aircraft joins Türkiye’s wildfire fight

An amphibious aircraft from Azerbaijan is helping to put out wildfires in the Ula district of Mugla, Türkiye.
The Be-200 amphibious firefighting plane made 12 water drops in the fire-affected area in Mugla’s Ula district yesterday, according to a statement from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan.
The statement added that the aircraft dropped a total of 114 tons of water on the fire zone and that operations are ongoing.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev had a phone conversation during which Aliyev mentioned that they have allocated a firefighting plane to Türkiye.
