Several banks in Iran experienced service disruptions early Saturday, affecting parts of their online and remote banking systems, as technical teams worked to restore normal operations, Tasnim News Agency reported.
The disruptions were reported at Bank Melli, Bank Saderat, Bank Tejarat and the Export Development Bank of Iran, according to Tasnim news agency.
Customers began reporting problems with some non-branch banking services and digital systems from the early hours of the day.
Bank officials said the cause of the disruption was under technical review and that efforts were underway to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
The disruptions affected parts of the banks’ non-branch services and electronic banking platforms.
Customers reported difficulties accessing some banking systems, though the report did not specify which services were unavailable or how many users were affected.
Tasnim said its inquiries with the banks showed that the relevant technical departments were examining the issue.
The report did not provide details about the cause of the disruption.
Banking officials said technical teams had been investigating the issue since the disruptions began.
They said the necessary steps were being taken to return banking services to normal in the shortest possible time.
Officials thanked customers for their patience and said the interruption was expected to be resolved soon.
The banks said services would return to their normal operating process once the technical problem was fixed.
