Türkiye’s intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin met with Egypt’s intelligence director Hasan Mahmud Rashad and Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Cairo to discuss efforts to sustain the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip amid rising Israeli violations, according to security sources.

The meeting centered on the ongoing ceasefire framework and steps required to stabilize conditions on the ground.

Officials reviewed recent developments in Gaza and exchanged views on preventing further escalation.

Delegates also discussed coordination with the United States “to ensure the successful implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement” between Israel and Hamas, al-Qahera News reported.

The ceasefire, brokered by Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye and the U.S., took effect on Oct. 10 after two years of conflict.

The Cairo talks came two days after a senior Hamas delegation met Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad to discuss the next phase of the truce, which focuses on disarming Hamas, forming a transitional authority and deploying an international stabilization force in Gaza.

Addressing violations and Türkiye’s support for Palestinians

Al-Qahera News said the trilateral meeting concentrated on “overcoming obstacles and limiting violations to ensure the cease-fire holds,” as Israel and Hamas continue to accuse each other of breaching the agreement.

Gaza health officials say more than 300 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since the truce began.

Officials agreed to intensify coordination with the Civil-Military Coordination Centre (CMCC), the U.S.-backed mechanism established in southern Israel to oversee compliance with the ceasefire.

A Turkish source said the three sides also discussed countering Israeli violations of the accord and maintaining cooperation with the CMCC to remove barriers affecting the ceasefire’s continuity.

During the meeting, Kalin underlined that Türkiye will continue to stand by the Palestinian people “with all its means,” as it has done consistently in previous stages of the conflict.
