An explosion was heard Monday evening near the Isfahan nuclear facility and an air force base in central Iran, the country’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.
Iranian authorities have not issued an official statement on the incident so far.
The development comes after the U.S. and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran on Saturday, killing several top Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In response, Tehran retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as regional countries hosting U.S. assets.
