Hamas said Israel has continued its attacks in the Gaza Strip by violating the ceasefire agreement every day since the deal was signed more than 200 days ago.
In a written statement, Hamas said the Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza had been signed more than 200 days earlier, while Israel had been carrying out what it called a “brutal war of genocide” for more than two years.
Hamas said the movement and other Palestinian groups had remained committed to the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
The statement said all provisions of the deal had been followed despite the extensive destruction caused by the attacks.
It said this included the handover of Israeli captives and bodies according to the agreed schedule.
“Full commitment was shown to all articles of the agreement, including the delivery of Israeli captives and bodies according to the set timetable, despite the massive destruction caused by the attacks,” Hamas said.
Hamas said the Israeli government had not fulfilled its obligations under the agreement.
The group accused Israel of continuing its attacks “under the cover of the agreement.”
According to the statement, Israel has violated the ceasefire on a daily basis since it was signed.
Hamas said the violations included targeting civilians, deepening the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, keeping the Rafah border crossing closed or only partially open, and carrying out various military practices.
The statement said the alleged violations showed that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was not committed to mediation efforts.
Hamas said Israel was trying to avoid the agreement despite the ceasefire deal.
It said the continued attacks, despite the agreement, were part of an ongoing assault against Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
Hamas said the current situation in Gaza created what it described as an abnormal humanitarian, political and legal reality under international law and agreements.
The statement said more than 2 million people in Gaza were struggling to survive under difficult conditions.
It said Israel had committed “the ugliest crimes and violations of the modern era” against civilians during the conflict.
Hamas called on mediators and guarantor countries to take a clear position against Israel’s violations.
The group urged them to ensure the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
