Tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate after the Israeli military confirmed it targeted multiple nuclear sites inside Iran, including the country’s largest facility, Natanz, and a second major site in Isfahan.

Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichai Adraee stated on social media that the raids included strikes on facilities used for uranium enrichment and conversion in Isfahan. According to Adraee, Israeli forces specifically targeted "uranium metal production infrastructure, enriched uranium conversion systems, and laboratories."

Earlier, Ekber Salihi, deputy governor of Isfahan province, confirmed that Israel carried out a strike on the Shahid Raisi Nuclear Facility in the city on Friday evening.

Escalation following massive Israeli offensive on Iran

The recent wave of Israeli airstrikes began on June 13, reportedly targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and the senior command of the Iranian military.

According to official Iranian sources:

  • The attacks resulted in the deaths of the Chief of General Staff, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), several high-ranking officers, and nine nuclear scientists.
  • Civilian casualties were also significant, with at least 78 people confirmed dead.

In retaliation, Iran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles at Israeli military positions, reportedly killing three, injuring at least 91.

The escalating military confrontation between the two regional powers has sparked international concern. Türkiye, among several countries, strongly condemned Israel's actions, warning of the dangers of further escalation.
