Israeli army shells village, opens fire in southern Syria

The Israeli army shelled a village in southern Syria and opened fire toward residential areas during a separate ground incursion Saturday, according to Alikhbaria TV.

Israeli artillery struck the outskirts of Abidin village in western Daraa province, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

Abidin is located in the Yarmouk Basin and was repeatedly targeted by Israeli artillery in September.

Israeli forces enter Quneitra area

In a separate incident, Israeli forces entered an area west of Sayda al-Hanout village in southern Quneitra province with two tanks and other military vehicles.

The forces opened fire toward residential neighborhoods, according to the report.

Syria raises Israeli actions at UN

Israel has continued operations on Syrian territory since the fall of the Assad government in late 2024.

Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa raised the issue during the 81st U.N. General Assembly, saying Israel had carried out about 500 airstrikes and artillery attacks, more than 1,200 incursions and roughly 300 arrests and detentions since late 2024.
