Magnitude-4.3 earthquake strikes the southern Iranian city of Gerash

A ⁠magnitude-4.3 earthquake has ⁠struck the Gerash ⁠region in Iran, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake occurred at a shallow depth of around 10 kilometers.

No serious damage or casualties has been reported so far.

Southern Iran is part of a seismically active zone known as the Zagros belt, where earthquakes are common due to tectonic movement.
