Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked a group of regional countries, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United States for their support in helping reach a ceasefire and give diplomacy a chance ahead of the Islamabad talks.
In a post, Sharif expressed his deepest and sincere gratitude to China, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt and Qatar for extending invaluable and all-out support toward reaching the ceasefire and allowing peaceful diplomatic efforts to seek a comprehensive and conclusive end to the conflict.
He also thanked the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for their consistent support and commitment to peace and stability in the region.
Sharif said he wanted to extend his deepest and sincere gratitude to the People's Republic of China, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Türkiye, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Qatar.
He said those countries had provided invaluable and full support toward reaching the ceasefire.
Sharif added that their support had helped give peaceful diplomatic efforts a chance to seek a comprehensive and conclusive end to the conflict.
His remarks came as the process moved toward the Islamabad talks.
Sharif also said he deeply appreciated and thanked the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
He said their consistent support and commitment to peace and stability in the region remained essential to the overall effort.
The message grouped the GCC states among the key supporters of the diplomatic push surrounding the ceasefire.
Sharif said the leadership of all the brotherly countries involved, as well as the United States of America, had demonstrated exceptional strategic foresight, sagacity and patience in giving peace a chance.
He also thanked partners and friends across the world who, he said, had reached out and acknowledged Pakistan's sincere efforts for global peace.
Sharif ended his message by calling for joint work to forge a lasting peace in the region and beyond.
