A video of a child crying while carrying his younger sister on his shoulders went viral, garnering around 9 million views on Instagram, prompting influencers to call for the rescue of the child and his sister.

The child “Jadou” appears in the video walking along the long displacement route from northern Gaza to the south, following Israeli evacuation orders.

The child appeared in torn clothes with a frail body, while his younger brother hung on his back, in a heartbreaking scene that reflects the suffering of thousands of Palestinian children who are paying the price of the war through no fault of their own.

Calls for help

Egyptian journalist Amr Adib, host of the popular program Al-Hekaya, called on Egyptian authorities and the Red Crescent to urgently intervene to rescue the child and his brother, stressing that he will personally follow up on their case until their safety is confirmed.

Adib said: “I want this child to get through, and I will follow up on him until I know where he has reached… Send someone to bring him and his sister. There are many children like him, but the timeline for this boy and his sister has gone viral.”

He added, “Bringing him to Egypt gives us a sense of symbolism… a breath of freedom, dignity, and pride despite the suffering of millions.”

The video quickly went viral across social media platforms, with viewers considering it a vivid symbol of Palestinian childhood suffering under relentless bombing and blockade.

Activists emphasized that the image of the child carrying his brother serves as a shocking message to the international community, highlighting the heavy human cost borne by civilians—especially children—due to the ongoing war in Gaza.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi has ordered the Egyptian committee to locate the Palestinian child and his brother following an extensive and prolonged search effort.

The Egyptian committee responsible for supporting the families of Gaza announced that it successfully located the Palestinian child and his brother after an extensive and prolonged search.

They were transferred to a tent at the Egyptian camp designated for humanitarian cases, where they received full care—nutritional, psychological, and medical.

The committee confirmed that this intervention was carried out under the direct orders of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who emphasized the importance of providing all forms of support to Palestinian children affected by the Israeli aggression.

This Egyptian initiative comes amid ongoing Israeli military operations targeting residential towers, hospitals, and even displacement shelters, while Egyptian authorities continue to play a pivotal humanitarian and political role in supporting Gaza and providing care for the most vulnerable cases.

The Egyptian committee affirmed that the issue of children in Gaza remains a top priority in its ongoing efforts, reflecting Egypt’s moral and humanitarian commitment to the Palestinian people.
