Qatar’s Interior Ministry said Monday that 313 people of various nationalities have been arrested for filming and circulating unauthorized videos and publishing misleading information related to recent security developments.

The arrests were carried out by the Economic and Cyber Crimes Prevention Department as part of ongoing efforts to address the misuse of social media, the ministry said.

Authorities said legal and administrative measures were taken against those involved.

The Interior Ministry also stressed the importance of refraining from filming or sharing videos related to the ongoing situation or spreading rumors.

Officials urged residents to obtain information only from approved official sources.

Qatar says it feels 'betrayed' by Iran

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said Monday that Doha feels “betrayed” by Iran amid escalating regional tensions.

Qatar said Sunday that its air defenses intercepted most missiles launched from Iran during an attack Saturday involving 10 ballistic missiles and two cruise missiles.

According to the Defense Ministry, six ballistic missiles were intercepted by the armed forces.

Two missiles fell into Qatar’s territorial waters and two landed in an uninhabited area without causing casualties.

The ministry also said two cruise missiles were intercepted.

Officials stressed that the Qatari Armed Forces have the capability and readiness to defend the country’s sovereignty and respond to external threats.

The ministry urged citizens, residents and visitors to remain calm, follow instructions issued by security authorities and rely only on official statements to avoid the spread of rumors.

Regional tensions remain high

Iran has launched missiles and drones toward Israel and several Gulf countries hosting U.S. military assets since Feb. 28.

Some of the attacks have caused casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure, including ports and residential buildings.

Tehran says the strikes are in response to a U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran that has killed hundreds of people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several senior military officials.
