Syrian FM to visit Türkiye for high-level talks

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani will visit Türkiye on Wednesday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced in an official statement.

"Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria, will pay a visit to Türkiye on 13 August 2025," the ministry said, without providing further details on the agenda.

The visit comes amid ongoing regional diplomatic activity and heightened discussions over security, humanitarian, and political issues concerning Syria and its neighbors.

Turkish official's recent Damascus trip

The Syrian minister's visit follows Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan's recent trip to Damascus on Aug. 7, where he met with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa.

Fidan was received by Sharaa for high-level talks during his working visit to the Syrian capital. According to the Syrian news agency SANA, the two officials discussed regional and international developments, as well as ways to enhance cooperation in various fields.
