U.S. President Donald Trump has sent two more bottles of perfume to Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, a follow-up gift to their viral White House encounter last November where Trump personally sprayed and gifted the fragrance to his counterpart.
The gesture, which drew attention in the international press after the official meeting, was followed up with a handwritten note from Trump. According to the message shared by Sharaa, Trump said he had sent more perfume in case the earlier gift ran out.
President Sharaa also shared a photo of the gift and the handwritten note on his X account, thanking Trump for the gesture.
The package also included a short handwritten note from Trump, in which he referred to the widely discussed photo taken during the perfume moment at the White House.
Trump reportedly wrote that everyone was talking about the photo of him giving Sharaa the perfume, adding that he had sent more in case it ran out.
The exchange brought the earlier White House moment back into focus, as Sharaa publicly shared the follow-up gift and message while thanking the U.S. president.
