Türkiye and eight other countries issued a joint statement in support of a Gaza draft resolution currently on the U.N. Security Council agenda.
The draft resolution prepared by the United States calls for advancing a political framework aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza, incorporating elements of regional diplomatic initiatives and emphasizing steps toward a sustainable peace.
The text reflects Washington’s push for broader international backing and has been the subject of extensive negotiations among Security Council members.
The permanent missions of Türkiye, the United States, Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan and Jordan at the United Nations said they jointly support the resolution drafted by the United States and presently under consideration by the council.
The statement noted that all nine countries “express their collective support” for the text.
The joint statement recalled that the resolution incorporates elements of the Gaza peace plan announced on Sept. 29.
It also noted that the plan was endorsed by participating countries during meetings held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, underscoring regional engagement in efforts to end the crisis.
The nine countries highlighted the “right of Palestinians to self-determination,” stressing that the initiative represents a sincere effort to advance a political solution.
The statement said the plan “offers a viable path to peace and stability not only between Israelis and Palestinians, but for the entire region.”
