Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications’ Center for Countering Disinformation denied claims that weapons and drone training had been provided to various groups in Türkiye, saying the allegations were baseless.

The center, known as DMM, said in a statement on its social media account that claims circulating in some media outlets and on social media did not reflect the truth.

The denial came after Israel’s public broadcaster KAN News reported Thursday that Hamas members had been conducting training in areas of Türkiye.

DMM says allegations are baseless

DMM said the claim that “various groups were given weapons and UAV training in Türkiye” was false.

The center described the reports as part of what it called a black propaganda campaign targeting Türkiye’s firm stance in support of peace, stability and security in the region.

It said the content aimed to escalate tensions in the region, disrupt Türkiye’s support for Palestine’s cause and manipulate international public opinion.

“Such posts, whose source is clearly known, are futile attempts aimed at escalating tension in the region, disrupting Türkiye’s support for Palestine’s just cause and manipulating international public opinion,” DMM said.

The center also urged the public not to give credit to what it called false claims intended to mislead.

Israeli broadcaster reports training claims

KAN News reported Thursday that Hamas members had been conducting training in areas of Türkiye.

According to the report, the members, wearing civilian clothing, regularly took part in training sessions on the use of small arms and tactics at public shooting clubs.

The report also claimed they received training in drone operations and had obtained official licenses to fly drones in Türkiye.

Türkiye rejects reports as propaganda

DMM said the allegations did not reflect reality and framed the reports as an attempt to target Türkiye’s position in the region.

The statement said Türkiye has consistently prioritized an environment of peace, stability and security in the region.

It also said the claims were aimed at affecting Türkiye’s support for Palestine and shaping international public opinion through misleading information.
