Türkiye and Egypt have strongly rejected any attempts to displace Palestinians from their homeland, urging Israel to allow the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) to continue its humanitarian efforts.
Following a meeting between Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in Ankara, the two nations issued a joint statement emphasizing the vital role of UNRWA in supporting Palestinians in the occupied territories.
The statement condemned actions aimed at displacing Palestinians, warning of the potential to destabilize the region and undermine peace efforts.
Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to a two-state solution, calling for an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The ministers also welcomed the Gaza ceasefire and prisoner exchange, praising the mediation efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the U.S.
They also emphasized the urgent need for international humanitarian aid and reconstruction in Gaza, urging donors to participate in an upcoming reconstruction conference in Egypt.
