U.S. strikes hit four locations in Iran's port city of Bushehr, home to the country's only civilian nuclear power plant, Iranian officials said Tuesday, as the United States launched a third consecutive night of attacks on Iran and reimposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports.

Ehsan Jahanian, Bushehr's deputy governor for political and security affairs, told Iran's official IRNA news agency that "four locations in the city of Bushehr were struck by hostile projectiles this afternoon," blaming the U.S. and describing it as a continuation of what he called the American violation of the ceasefire.

No casualties were reported, according to Jahanian and Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

Residents of Bushehr and the nearby town of Choghadak reported hearing multiple explosions, according to Fars News Agency, while Iran's state broadcaster IRIB reported five explosions were heard west of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran.

Hormozgan province's governor's office confirmed projectiles struck the area around 1 p.m. local time, saying further details would follow, according to IRNA.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said early Tuesday it had completed its latest wave of strikes on military targets across Iran, including in Bushehr, Chabahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa and Bandar Abbas, marking a third consecutive night of U.S. attacks following the collapse of the 60-day ceasefire.

Trump names 'Pickaxe Mountain' as possible target

Trump had said Monday he was considering expanding the scope of strikes, naming Pickaxe Mountain, a site that hosts tunnel complexes experts assess may lie beyond the reach of even the most powerful bunker-buster bombs in the U.S. arsenal, as a potential target.

US reimposes blockade, Iran rejects 'interference'

CENTCOM said that, following Trump's orders, it would reimpose a blockade on Iranian ports beginning at 2000 GMT Tuesday.

Washington had eased the blockade after the two sides reached an interim agreement in June, but Trump had vowed to reinstate it following the renewed fighting.

Trump said Monday the U.S. was "taking over" the Strait of Hormuz and would be "reimbursed, at the rate of 20% of all cargo shipped, for any and all costs necessary to do the job of providing safety and security" through the strait.

Iran's military rejected the move.

A spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya command said in a video statement that Iran "under no circumstances will allow ... the United States to interfere in the management" of the strait.
