Anadolu Efes edged past Germany’s Bayern Munich with a dramatic 81–80 victory in Round 31 of the EuroLeague, sealing the game with a three-point basket in the final second.
The tightly contested matchup, played at SAP Garden, saw the Türkiye-based club pull off a late comeback after trailing for most of the night.
Bayern Munich set the early pace and closed out the opening quarter with a 17–14 lead. The German side then pushed ahead further in the second period, stretching the gap and heading into halftime with a comfortable 39–26 advantage.
After the break, however, Anadolu Efes began to chip away at the deficit. Bayern had briefly opened up a 16-point lead early in the third quarter, but Efes gradually clawed its way back and cut the margin to just four points before the end of the period.
Despite Bayern still holding a narrow 58–53 lead heading into the final quarter, the momentum had already begun to shift.
The fourth quarter turned into a head-to-head battle as both teams traded baskets and the lead repeatedly changed hands. With only seconds remaining, Anadolu Efes guard Isaiah Swider stepped up and knocked down a three-point shot with one second left on the clock, pushing his side ahead 81–80.
The dramatic basket effectively wrapped up the contest and secured the Turkish club’s victory on the road.
With the result, Anadolu Efes chalked up its tenth win of the current EuroLeague season, while Bayern Munich suffered its eighteenth defeat in the competition.
